Paragraph: A Book Fair

A book fair is an exhibition where various kinds of books are displayed and sold to the public. Nowadays, it has become very popular in our country. The main aim of organizing a book fair is to encourage people to read more books and spread knowledge. In Bangladesh, the largest and most famous book fair is the ‘Ekushey Boi Mela’. It is organized every year by Bangla Academy in Dhaka during the month of February to honour the memory of the Language Martyrs of 1952. Besides Dhaka, book fairs are also held in different districts and towns during various times of the year. In a book fair, many publishing companies set up beautifully decorated stalls to display their new and famous books. A wide variety of books, such as storybooks, novels, poetry, history books, science fiction, and children’s literature are available in the fair. People of all ages, especially students, teachers, and book lovers gather at the fair. Visitors walk through different stalls, choose their favourite books and buy them with great joy. Books are usually sold at a cheaper rate in a book fair. Many famous writers, poets, and scholars also visit the fair, talk to their readers and give autographs. Apart from book stalls, there are often food stalls and cultural events that add extra joy to the fair. A book fair plays a vital role in developing reading habits and spreading education among people in society.
